Overdraft Protection |
|
As you may be aware, overdraft rules are changing. All financial institutions now must receive the consent of their consumers before paying everyday debit card transactions that result in an overdraft. At GPO, we have offered a service called Privilege Pay for several years. Members who have this service are allowed to overdraw their share draft checking account when funds are not available for a $25 fee. This means that our members will not incur additional overdraft charges from the merchant because the checks are covered (up to a total limit of $500). You must bring your account to a positive balance within 30 days to continue taking advantage of this benefit. With the passage of new legislation, we need to obtain your consent before authorizing payment of everyday debit card transactions that could result in an overdraft. To choose this service, you should review the consent information and notify the credit union if you want to allow payment of everyday debit card transactions. > To consent to overdraft protection online, please click here > For a printable consent form, please click here > You may phone in your consent to any GPO branch: We understand that occasional overdrafts happen to all of us. Privilege Pay was designed to help members avoid embarrassment and hassles. If you never use this service, that's great. But if you need it, Privilege Pay is there for you. Feel free to call or visit your nearest branch with any questions.
