Celebrating the People Who Make GPO Special
At GPO, our members are at the heart of everything we do. From helping families reach financial milestones to supporting the communities we call home; the relationships we've built over the years continue to shape who we are as a credit union.
That's why October is one of our favorite times of the year!
Throughout Member Appreciation Month, we're celebrating with special branch activities, giveaways, community initiatives, and exciting opportunities designed to give back to the people who make it all possible.
And this year, there's plenty happening across GPO!
A Little Something to Say Thank You
We're bringing a little extra fun to our branches this October, and we hope you'll stop by to enjoy it!
Members visiting their local GPO branch can look forward to special swag and giveaways available in our lobbies throughout the month, along with a few seasonal surprises.
We're also bringing back Poppin' Thursdays on October 1st and October 29th, when members can stop in and enjoy some freshly popped popcorn while taking care of their banking.
And on Thursday, October 15th, we'll join credit unions around the world in celebrating International Credit Union Day, recognizing the people-first philosophy that makes credit unions special.
These are small ways for us to say a big thank you to the members who continue to choose GPO.
Shred Week: A Little Peace of Mind for Your Paperwork
Member Appreciation Month isn't just about giveaways. It's also an opportunity to offer something practical.
During GPO's Shred Week, October 17–23, members can bring sensitive documents to participating branches for free, secure paper shredding.
Old financial statements, expired account documents, and other paperwork containing personal information can accumulate quickly. When those documents are no longer needed, disposing of them properly is an important part of protecting your information.
Before bringing documents for shredding, take a moment to review what you should keep for your records. Tax documents, legal paperwork, and other important financial records may need to be retained for a specific period.

Giving Back Together This October
Our commitment to members extends beyond our branch doors and into the communities where we live and work.
Throughout October, GPO is supporting the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer through branch fundraising activities and participation in the Sunday, October 25th Walk.
Our team will also be there with our "I Love You, Get Screened" booth, helping encourage awareness and conversations about the importance of screening.
Members and community supporters can get involved through our branch fundraising efforts, with contributions helping support the fight against breast cancer.
It's an opportunity to come together for a cause that touches so many families throughout our communities.
New Ways to Grow and Connect
Member Appreciation Month is also a chance to celebrate how GPO continues to grow and evolve to better serve our members.
This October, we're introducing Easy Send, our newest peer-to-peer payment service integrated into GPO's Digital Banking. Whether you're splitting a bill, paying someone back, or sending money to a loved one, Easy Send offers another convenient way to manage everyday payments.
We're also excited to welcome members and neighbors to our new Chittenango branch, opening Monday, October 19th!
From opening-day treats featuring local businesses to special celebrations, community partnerships, and opportunities to connect, we're looking forward to becoming an even bigger part of the Chittenango community.
And because preparing for what's next looks different for everyone, we're also offering an Auto Loan Sale and a special Term Share Certificate promotion, giving members opportunities to explore options for their borrowing and savings goals.
We'll be sharing more about these exciting additions and opportunities throughout the month, so stay tuned!
